How many porta potties do I need?

Start with 1 per 50 guests

Our method: 1 unit per 50 guests for events up to 4 hours. 100 guests for 3 hours = 2 units.

Longer than 4 hours?

Add 1 unit per 100 guests. Serving alcohol? Add another 1 unit per 100 guests.

Add hand washing

Plan 1 hand wash station per 4 units. Each station has a foot pump, 2 sides and needs no hookups.

Include accessible units

Public events: at least 5% of units in each cluster should be wheelchair-accessible, with a minimum of 1.

Work crews follow OSHA

OSHA Table D-1: 20 or fewer workers = 1 toilet. Over 20 = 1 seat + 1 urinal per 40 workers.
