What is a restroom trailer?
A restroom trailer is a towable building with separate stalls, flushing porcelain-style toilets, sinks with running water, mirrors, lights and climate-controlled air. A restroom trailer gives guests an indoor-bathroom feel at weddings, reunions, corporate events and film shoots where a building bathroom is not available.

What does a restroom trailer need on site?
A restroom trailer needs a level spot the truck can back into, a standard 20-amp outdoor outlet within reach, and a garden hose spigot for running water. When power or water is not available, Roy Rental Works quotes a generator, a fresh water tank or both. The trailer also needs room for its steps.
| Requirement | What works | If you don’t have it |
|---|---|---|
| Level ground | Driveway, parking lot, firm lawn | We level with jacks on mild slopes; steep ground won’t work |
| Power | Standard 20-amp outdoor outlet | Generator quoted with the trailer |
| Water | Garden hose spigot | Fresh water tank quoted with the trailer |
| Truck access | Open drive, no low branches or wires | Walk the route with us before booking |
| Lead time | 7+ days | Call — short-notice dates are sometimes open |

How many guests can a restroom trailer handle?
Plan 1 trailer stall per 50 guests for a 4-hour event, the same planning method used for porta potties. A 2-stall restroom trailer fits about 100 guests. For 150 to 250 guests, rent a larger trailer or pair a 2-stall trailer with standard units for the crowd and keep the trailer for family.
Restroom trailer or porta potties: which is better for your event?
A restroom trailer is better for weddings, formal parties and events where guests are dressed up and stay for hours. Porta potties are better for large public crowds, rough ground, tight spaces and short notice. Many Columbia weddings combine both. Compare side by side in our porta potty vs restroom trailer guide.
Restroom trailer questions
Can a restroom trailer run without electricity?
A restroom trailer needs power for lights, fans, air and the water pump. Without an outlet, we quote a quiet generator to run it for the event.
Do restroom trailers have separate men’s and women’s sides?
Our 2-stall trailers have separate doors that can be signed for men and women or left unmarked.
How far ahead should I book a restroom trailer?
Book a restroom trailer at least 7 days ahead, and 1–3 months ahead for spring and fall wedding weekends.
Will the trailer damage my lawn?
The trailer rolls on tires and sits on jacks. On dry, firm lawn there is little mark. On soft or wet ground, we may set boards under the jacks or suggest a driveway spot.
Can the trailer stay for a multi-day event or film shoot?
Trailers can stay several days. We schedule service visits to empty the waste tank, refill water and restock during the rental.
