Booking and availability
How do I book a porta potty with Roy Rental Works?
Call (803) 343-9777, Monday–Saturday 7 AM–7 PM, or send the quote form. We confirm the address, dates, unit and spot, then send an itemized quote to approve and pay by card.
Is it faster to call or fill out the form?
Calling is faster. A phone call gets a live answer on availability and same-day delivery right away. Online quote requests get a call back within 1 business hour during open hours.
How far ahead should I book a porta potty?
Book standard units 1–2 days ahead for most dates, 2–4 weeks ahead for spring and October weekends and holiday weekends, and 1–3 months ahead for restroom trailers on wedding dates.
Are you a local company or a national call center?
Roy Rental Works is a local company run by Roy from our yard at 10014 Two Notch Rd in Northeast Columbia. The team that answers the phone also schedules the trucks.
Do you have a physical location I can visit?
Our yard and office are at 10014 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, SC 29223. Call before you stop by, since the crew is often out on routes.
Can someone else pay for the rental?
Another person can pay. We can text or email the itemized quote and payment link to a spouse, treasurer, office manager or homeowner.
Can you hold a date while I check with my family or boss?
We can send a written quote to share. The date is reserved once the quote is approved and paid, so book soon for busy weekends.
Can I book for someone else’s event?
You can book for a parent, friend, church or business. Give us the on-site contact’s name and number so the driver can reach them.
Will I get a confirmation after I pay?
You get a written confirmation by text or email with the order details, delivery date, unit count and our phone number.
Delivery and timing
What time will my porta potty arrive?
Deliveries run Monday–Saturday during the day on a route. The driver calls about 30 minutes ahead. If you need the unit by a certain hour, tell us when you book.
Do you deliver on weekends?
Roy Rental Works delivers Monday through Saturday. Sunday events are delivered Saturday and picked up Monday.
Can you deliver tomorrow morning?
Next-morning delivery is often open on standard units. Call by the afternoon before so we can add your stop to the first route.
How early before my event will the unit arrive?
Event units arrive the day before the event, or the morning of a Saturday event, so they are in place before guests and vendors.
When will you pick up after my event?
Event units are picked up the next business day. A Saturday or Sunday event is usually picked up Monday.
Do you deliver outside Columbia?
Roy Rental Works delivers across the Midlands, including Lexington, Irmo, Chapin, Blythewood, Elgin, Camden, Winnsboro, Newberry, Orangeburg, Sumter and Aiken. See all service areas.
Do you deliver to Fort Jackson or Shaw Air Force Base?
Deliveries on a military base need gate access set up by the person ordering. Tell us the address is on base when you book, and arrange driver access with your base contact.
My GPS sends people the wrong way. How will the driver find me?
Send a GPS pin and a short note on the turn-off or landmark. The driver also calls ahead and can call you for directions.
Can I be there to show the driver where it goes?
You are welcome to meet the driver. Tell us when you book and the driver will call when leaving the previous stop so you have time to get there.
Can I pick up the porta potty myself to save money?
Customers cannot pick up or tow units. A full or partly full unit can spill and tip, so our trucks handle every move.
Pricing and payment
What is included in the price?
An itemized quote includes the unit, rental period, delivery, pickup, servicing on monthly rentals, any rush fee and tax. Toilet paper and hand sanitizer come in every standard unit.
Is the price per unit?
Prices are per unit, with delivery and pickup listed once for the whole order. Several units on one trip usually lower the cost per unit.
What is the out-the-door total?
The total on your itemized quote is what you pay, including tax. Ask us to read the total on the phone before you book.
Is sales tax added?
South Carolina sales tax is added and shown on the quote. Tax-exempt groups can send their exemption certificate to remove it.
Is there a fuel surcharge or card fee?
Any fee that applies is listed on your itemized quote before you pay. Nothing is added at pickup.
Do you take checks or cash?
Roy Rental Works takes Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Businesses, churches and schools can ask about invoicing.
Can I pay half now and half later?
Event rentals are paid in full at booking. Monthly rentals are billed each 28-day cycle.
Can you text me a payment link instead of taking my card on the phone?
We can text or email a secure payment link with your itemized quote, so you never read your card number aloud.
Why is my quote higher than prices I saw online?
Online prices often leave out delivery, pickup, servicing and tax, or show national averages. Compare full totals. See our cost guide for local estimate ranges.
Do you charge more for remote or rural sites?
Distance from our Two Notch Rd yard is one of the price factors. Rural sites far outside Columbia can cost more to reach, and the quote shows the delivery charge.
Units and what’s inside
What is the difference between a standard and a deluxe porta potty?
A standard porta potty has a seat, a urinal and hand sanitizer. A deluxe unit adds a foot-pump flush, a sink with soap and towels, and a mirror. See deluxe units.
Are event units nicer than construction units?
Event units are chosen for appearance and arrive freshly cleaned and stocked. Jobsite units are built for daily heavy use and weekly service.
Does a porta potty have a light inside?
Standard porta potties have no electric light, but the translucent roof lets in daylight. For night events, hang a battery lantern inside or place the unit near a light.
Do porta potties come with toilet paper?
Every unit arrives with toilet paper and a hand sanitizer dispenser. Monthly rentals are restocked at each weekly service.
Do you supply seat covers?
Standard units do not include seat covers. Many hosts add a pack of covers and a small trash can for a wedding or party.
Do you have pink or colored units for events?
Event units come in several colors, including pink. Ask when you book if color matters for your event.
Can you send me a photo of the unit?
We can text photos of the unit type before you book. The photos on this site are of our standard, deluxe, hand wash and trailer units.
How tall is a porta potty?
A standard porta potty is about 7.5 feet tall, about 44 inches wide and about 4 feet deep. Check for low branches or eaves over the spot.
Do you rent shower trailers?
Roy Rental Works focuses on porta potties, hand wash stations and restroom trailers. Call to ask about shower needs and we will tell you what we can arrange.
Placement and site access
Does the ground have to be flat?
The spot should be level and firm. A slight slope is usually fine, but steep ground lets the unit lean and the door swing.
Can a porta potty go on a slope beside my driveway?
A mild slope beside a driveway often works. If the spot leans noticeably, we will set the unit on the driveway edge instead.
How far from the street can the unit be?
Plan for about 25 feet from where the truck parks. Longer carries, steps and soft ground slow delivery and may not be possible.
How wide does my gate need to be?
A standard unit needs a gate at least 4 feet wide. Wheelchair-accessible units and restroom trailers need an open drive.
How do I mark where the porta potty goes?
Use a cone, stake, flag or ribbon, or text us a photo with an arrow. Mark it the day before delivery.
Can it go on grass?
Firm, level grass works well. Avoid low wet spots, new sod, irrigation heads and septic drain fields.
What if there are low wires or tree limbs?
Low wires and limbs block the truck and service hose. Pick a spot with open sky above it and tell us about any overhead lines.
Can the unit face a certain way?
Tell us which way the door should face. Most hosts face the door toward guests and away from the street or a neighbor.
Do I need to keep a path open for service?
Keep a clear path for the service truck on the weekly service day. Parked cars and fenced material yards are the most common blocks.
Cleaning and servicing
How often are porta potties cleaned?
Monthly rentals are cleaned once a week. Event units are cleaned before delivery and after pickup, with mid-event service available.
What happens during a service visit?
The tech pumps the tank, scrubs and sanitizes the seat, urinal, walls and floor, adds deodorizer and water, and restocks paper and sanitizer.
How many uses before a porta potty needs service?
A standard porta potty is commonly rated for about 200 uses between services. Heat, crowd size and alcohol shorten that.
Can I get service twice a week?
Twice-weekly service is available for larger crews and busy sites, as a per-visit charge on your quote.
Can you clean the units every night of a multi-day event?
Nightly or daily service during festivals and multi-day events can be scheduled. Each visit is listed on the quote.
Do you leave extra toilet paper?
Service techs restock toilet paper at every visit. For busy weekends, ask for extra rolls left in the unit.
The unit is full before the service day. What do I do?
Call (803) 343-9777 and we will schedule an extra service visit. If it happens often, we will suggest another unit or a second weekly visit.
How do you keep porta potties from smelling in summer?
Weekly service, fresh deodorizer, a shaded spot and the roof vent keep odor down. In July and August, busy units may need a second visit. Hot-weather tips.
Where does the waste go?
Waste is pumped into our vacuum truck and taken to a permitted treatment facility. It is never dumped on site.
Rental length, extensions and pickup
How long can I keep a porta potty?
An event rental covers delivery, your event and pickup. A monthly rental stays as long as you need, billed every 28 days.
Can I rent a porta potty for just one day?
One-day events are booked as an event rental, which costs the same as a weekend. The unit arrives the day before and leaves the next business day.
Is there a minimum rental period?
The shortest rental is one event rental, which covers delivery, your event and pickup. Jobsite rentals under a week can book short-term; longer ones bill every 28 days.
Can I extend my rental?
Call before your scheduled pickup and the unit stays. Monthly rentals roll into the next 28-day cycle automatically.
Do I have to call for pickup?
Event pickups are scheduled when you book. Monthly rentals are not picked up automatically, so call when you are done.
What if my job runs past the 28 days?
The next 28-day cycle starts and weekly service continues. You pay delivery only once.
Do I need to be there for pickup?
You do not need to be there for pickup as long as the unit is reachable and gates are open or the code is shared.
Can I swap a unit partway through the rental?
Units can be swapped, for example standard to deluxe or adding an accessible unit. Call and we will schedule the swap.
Events and parties
How many porta potties do I need for a 50-person party?
One standard unit covers 50 guests for up to 4 hours. Plan 2 if the party runs longer or serves alcohol. Use the calculator.
Our venue only has two bathrooms. Do we need more?
Two indoor bathrooms serve about 100 guests for a short event. For larger or longer events, add porta potties outside to cut the lines.
The mayor’s office said we need porta potties for our park event. How many?
Use the town’s permit rule as the minimum, then our planning count. Richland County, West Columbia and Forest Acres each list rules. See the local rules.
Do you rent porta potties for a pool party?
A porta potty keeps wet guests out of the house. Place it on pavement or level grass, away from the pool deck and electrical outlets.
Can you set up porta potties at a cemetery for a funeral?
Units can be set at cemeteries, churches and homes for funerals and celebrations of life. We deliver early and place the units out of view.
Do you supply porta potties for charity runs and races?
Races need units at the start and finish where crowds gather at once. Plan more than the standard count at the start line.
Can you deliver to a farm or barn for a graduation party?
Farms and barns are common party spots. Send a GPS pin if the property has a long drive or no clear address.
Do you rent porta potties for tailgates?
Private tailgate lots can rent units like any event. Stadium and fair lots have their own rules, so check with the lot operator first.
What if our event is two days long?
Two-day events usually need a service visit between days to pump and restock the units. Ask for it when you book.
Construction and business
Do contractors get a dedicated contact?
Contractors with several sites can work with the same scheduler at our office, who knows their sites and service days.
Can you invoice my company monthly?
Businesses on long rentals can ask about monthly invoicing after the first cycle is paid by card.
Do I need secondary containment for a commercial site?
Some commercial and big-box sites require spill containment under portable toilets. Tell us the site rules and we will quote what is needed.
Can you rent dumpsters or fencing too?
Roy Rental Works rents porta potties, hand wash stations and restroom trailers. For dumpsters and fencing, ask your local roll-off and fence companies.
Our plant’s plumbing failed. Can you help today?
Call by 12 PM for same-day delivery of standard units and hand wash stations. Tell us the number of staff and shifts so we size it right.
Do you serve warehouses and remodels with 30 workers?
A 30-person crew on a 40-hour week needs 3 standard units by our recommendation, plus a hand wash station. Twice-weekly service helps on long shifts.
Do you rent to film and video shoots?
Film and video shoots rent standard units, deluxe units and restroom trailers. Tell us the call times and location access.
Which menu option do I pick if I’m a roofer working at a house?

Can I put a porta potty at a camp or hunting property?
Camps and hunting land can rent units monthly or for a weekend. Make sure the truck can reach the spot in wet weather.
Do you pump out RV or camper holding tanks?
Roy Rental Works does not pump RV holding tanks. For a family staying in a camper during a visit, a porta potty next to the camper is a simple option.
Accessibility, rules and permits
Is your handicap unit ADA compliant?
Our wheelchair-accessible units have a ground-level floor, grab bars and a 60-inch turning space. Full ADA compliance also depends on placement and the route to the unit. Accessible units.
Do I need a permit to put a porta potty in my driveway?
Placing a rented unit on your own driveway usually needs no permit. HOAs may have rules, and placing a unit on a street or sidewalk can need city approval.
Does my HOA allow porta potties?
Many HOAs allow porta potties for remodels and events if they are temporary and out of street view. Check your HOA rules before delivery.
What does OSHA require for jobsite toilets?
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 Table D-1 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers and 1 seat plus 1 urinal per 40 workers above that. OSHA guide.

We provide a written order showing the unit count, accessible count, provider name and delivery and pickup dates for your permit application.
Damage, safety and policies
What if someone damages the unit while it’s unattended?
The renter covers damage beyond normal use, such as fire, vandalism or graffiti. Lock the unit when the site is closed and place it in a visible spot.
Does the porta potty come with a lock?

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel free up to 24 hours before scheduled delivery. Same-day orders can be cancelled free until the truck is dispatched. Full rental terms.
What if bad weather is coming?
Units can be staked against wind. Before a tropical storm, we may ask to lay units down or pick them up early to keep them from blowing over.
What if the porta potty tips over?
Keep people away and call us. We clean up and right or replace the unit. Staking and level placement prevent most tip-overs.
Can I put a heater or candle inside the unit?
Never put heaters, candles or open flames in or near a porta potty. Use battery lanterns only.
What if a unit isn’t clean when it arrives?
Every unit leaves the yard cleaned, sanitized and stocked. If anything is off, call (803) 343-9777 and we will fix or swap the unit the same day when the route allows.
